Gia Kirkpatrick

Personal artwork / Arm and rib tattoo

Gia talks about connecting with Rinat during their first meeting and feeling heard throughout her tattoo sessions.

No pain, no gain! Hi, my name is Gia Kirkpatrick. I just got tattooed today by Rinat.

The first session when I met Rinat, I knew he was my tattoo artist. We instantly connected. I knew he understood my vision.

He was very friendly, very sweet, and we got to work. We started working on my arm. I came back, and today we started working on my ribs and my side. We just finished that.

Rinat is very gentle with my needs. He takes his time when he tattoos me, so I don't feel like he's in a rush. He really listens to what's important to me in the artwork and the tattoo, and I feel like he takes my words seriously.

I would recommend my tattoo artist, Rinat, to anyone who's looking to fully express themselves through artwork and creativity, and who wants someone to take their ideas and turn them into a masterpiece.

Rinat would be the perfect person to take your vision and make it come to life, and that's why I would recommend him to everyone.

Asta

Face tattoo / Refining an existing design

Asta explains why precise linework and trust in the artist matter especially for a visible face tattoo.

Read Full Transcript

My name is Asta. I had one here before, and it was just a little too simple.

I trusted Rinat to come up with something a little cooler to put there.

I make a lot of makeup content, fashion content, and tattoo content.

Rinat is definitely someone to trust, especially when it comes to the face. You need somebody who's very, very good and consistent with linework and all that stuff.

Other places you can cover up with clothes, but your face is what people are looking at, so it needs to be super clean work.

Seth Winter

Naruto / Anime tattoo cover-up

Seth shares the story behind his anime-inspired cover-up and describes his experience during the sessions.

Read Full Transcript

My name is Seth Winter. I'm from North Carolina, and I'm in the United States Marine Corps.

I like anime. I'm a big Dragon Ball fan, and I like Naruto. Sasuke and Itachi are my favorite characters in Naruto, so I wanted something that would incorporate that.

I originally had a Sasuke tattoo that I got when I was 17, but Rinat covered it up because I didn't like the way it looked anymore. He did a really fantastic job with it.

I was young, and I just wanted a tattoo. I didn't take the time to look for the right artist. If I was going to pay for something, I wanted it to look good.

He actually takes his time. If I have to move a certain way, he lets me move. He offered me water and got me a coffee. Most tattoo artists don't do that.

He works with the canvas to make his work better and to help people get the tattoo of their dreams. He's a very nice person.

He's not very heavy-handed like some artists. He's very light-handed, so sometimes you don't even feel it. I've personally fallen asleep a couple of times during tattoos.

It was a great experience, and I would recommend it to anybody.

Mila

Japanese sleeve / Ukrainian symbolism

Mila, a tattoo artist from Colorado, talks about traveling to Los Angeles for a Japanese sleeve that incorporates part of her Ukrainian background.

My name is Mila. I'm a tattoo artist based in Colorado. I've been flying down to LA to get this tattoo done.

I met Rinat at a convention. He's a tattoo artist based in Miami. I felt really comfortable with him as an artist.

I had an idea about a sleeve for a really long time. I really wanted a Japanese sleeve, and I wanted a little bit of my background in it. I'm from Ukraine.

We chose a Ukrainian bird with a Japanese background.

If I were to recommend Rinat, I'd say it's a really fun experience. You definitely need a sense of humor. He's really light-handed, so I really like that part about him.

A Tattoo About Family

Personal symbolism / Samurai composition

A client explains how family symbolism, bees, and warrior imagery became part of a meaningful tattoo composition.

Read Full Transcript

I came across a few posts on Instagram, and I just really liked his presence, his artwork, and his linework.

Rinat has a very strong concept of art, foreground, and background, so there's depth in everything. He knows how to make things look a certain way so your eyes are attracted to particular areas of the tattoo.

I really enjoyed the experience and what he was able to offer. I live about an hour away, so we met on FaceTime. He was able to meet with me and talk to me.

He's always listening to my ideas. He knows what I want, and then he's putting in his artistic flair because he knows how a tattoo is going to look in the long run. That helped me feel more comfortable.

The bee represents my daughter, and the woman warrior represents her mom, kind of watching over her.

On the other side, I have a samurai who also has a honeybee nearby. I'm watching over both her mom and her, keeping myself on the outside and protecting them from anything coming in.

From an Idea to a Finished Tattoo

Choosing an artist / Design experience

A client describes finding Rinat through his portfolio and feeling confident enough in the experience to consider another tattoo.

Read Full Transcript

I wanted a super professional artist who could implement what I wanted, so I started searching, and I found Rinat through his profile and all the work he had in his portfolio.

That's how I chose Rinat as my artist.

I wanted something special. But right now, I'm thinking about another one, to be honest, because it was super smooth.

Everything was perfect: the conversation, the work itself, and the representation of what I wanted. So I would do another one.

Carlos

Elden Ring / Alien / Terminator

Carlos talks about connecting with Rinat over video games and sci-fi movies and creating several large tattoo projects together.

Read Full Transcript

Hi, my name is Carlos. The way I met him was that I was scrolling through Instagram, looking for an artist who would help me work on this sleeve, which is Elden Ring.

Luckily, I found Rinat, and he quickly told me he'd actually played Elden Ring.

We've done pretty much this Elden Ring sleeve, and then this other one was a cyber-alien piece that I did with him because we're both fans of Alien.

For this bigger piece, I wanted a movie theme. One of the subjects was the Terminator, inspired by movies I grew up watching as a young boy, especially Terminator in Spanish.

I just love his black and grey realism and the color pieces he's done, especially everything in his portfolio.

He was very good at making me feel comfortable. He's easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable throughout the session.

A Japanese Tattoo Vision

Samurai / Torii gate / Cherry blossoms

A client describes a Japanese-inspired design and how Rinat expanded the original idea through additional artistic details.

Read Full Transcript

So my tattoo artist is Rinat. I love Japanese culture.

What I want is a background with stairs going up to a torii gate leading toward a temple. There's a samurai at the bottom of the steps going toward it, with a forest or a tree and some cherry blossom petals.

I saw some of his work on another guy, and that's exactly why I wanted to do it.

I tell him the details, and then he actually brings more to it than just what I was thinking.

He has a bigger imagination than I do. I tell him the basics, and then we work from there, adding smaller details.

I didn't think about the samurai, honestly, but when he brought it up and drew it for me, it made the design look a lot better.

The Experience
