The Villain Arts Festival in Chicago just wrapped up, and for me it was one of the most successful trips in the USA, taking home three awards in total.

The star of the festival was my regular model Tania @green.vesper, whose large tattoo had already been shown at various festivals, and it was time to present this project to the American audience. In Chicago we won prizes in two categories: Japanese Tattoo and XL Color Tattoo for healed work, which was especially significant because the jury evaluated not only the fresh effect but also how the tattoo lived on the skin over time.

At the same time I had another project competing for Best of Day, a subway-themed piece combining Chicago and Florida metro lines with personal landmarks for the client. This tattoo also hit perfectly, earning a prize in the Best of Day category. In total the festival brought three awards, a very strong result for a single convention.

Villain Arts is a major player on the US scene, hosting festivals in around 28 cities, traveling from state to state. The next stop on my plan is their San Diego convention, where I’ll work with Sullen, who rent multiple booths and invite tattoo artists they feel best represent the brand. For me this is a sign of trust and extra responsibility to meet expectations and show my level.

Anyone interested in getting a tattoo specifically at Villain Arts in San Diego and potentially presenting it on stage can book in advance through the online form or send a direct message to discuss the idea, prepare the design, and arrive at the festival with a project that has a real chance to earn awards.
